Rev. Judy Merrill

Rev Judy Merrill has been actively serving Spiritualist Churches throughout Ontario, across Canada and in the U.S. for over 20 years. She is founder and pastor of the Church of Spiritual Wisdom in Etobicoke Ontario. It is a place for continuous learning for those seeking a supportive and stimulating environment. Judy Merrill has contributed articles on Spiritualism to a number of journals in Canada, England and the U.S. She has also had 2 books (Awaken, My Soul! and Journey, My Soul!) published on the topic of Modern Spiritualism.




Rev. Shirley McCarnan
September, 21st Speaker
 Rev. Shirley McCarnan is the resident Minster at the Orillia Star of Hope Spiritualist Church. She is an accomplished spiritual medium and speaker with over 30 years of experience. She has served a wide variety of churches in areas including Ontario, Alberta and New York. Shirley's practice includes energy work, counselling and healing. "Her compassion love and respect for all life is expressed in all she does."

Classes, Workshops and Events:

East Hamilton Church offers development, healing, meditation and related classes and workshops. These sessions foster a better understanding of Spiritualism and teach skills that will help individuals with the development of their gifts as Spiritualists, healers and mediums.

In addition the Church offers special events for members and guests.


Trance and Automatic Writing Workshop
 Date: Saturday - August 16, 2008
Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm
With: Rev. Joe Brown
Fee: $40.00

Trance will be explored in this session.

This will consist of:
(a) The eight (8) steps to teaching trance and the protective rules to follow for personal safety.
(b) How to give your doorkeeper/guide your consent.
(c) How to do Inspired writing through a light trance.
(d) How to condition yourself for Automatic writing.
(e) How to guide another within, with two trusted individuals, and self induced Trance.
(f) How to Channel with group participation.
(g) Each student will be guided into a Trance State and will be taught how to speak inspirationally under suggestion.
(h) Explanation of the steps to take in order not to cause anxiety.
(I) If an Advanced "Student Medium" is available he/she will demonstrate Transfiguration Trance Channelling.
Those attending will need a book to write in, and a pen or a pencil.

Rev. Joe Brown is a certified clairvoyant and lecturer. He also holds certificates in Spiritual Healing, Natural Law and Second Degree Reiki. Currently he teaches an intermediate to advanced mediumship development class at The Fellowship Centre in Oshawa as well as at his own location, Divine Light Temple in Scarborough, Ontario. Rev. Joe Brown has written two books - "Psychic Ability, Clairvoyant Powers" and "Psychic Powers, Mediumship Enhancement". He conducts workshops based on his experiences and self education. Although he's a Spiritualist, "he appreciates and values other religions".
